Abstract: THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE IS COMMITTED TO DEVELOPING A NATIONAL VIOLENT CRIME INITIATIVE FOR FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AS A FIRST STEP, THIS NEW INDICATORS SYSTEM WILL DETECT AND MONITOR CHRONIC AND EMERGING VIOLENT CRIME TRENDS ON A QUARTERLY BASIS AS REPORTED BY 21 LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENICES ACROSS THE COUNTRY.
