Abstract: THIS IS A PRETEST FOR THE SURVEY OF ADULTS ON PROBATION. THE FULL SURVEY WILL PROVIDE DATA ON DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS, OFFENSES, SENTENCING, PRIOR SENTENCES, PRIOR ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE AND TREATMENT, CURRENT SUPERVISION AND PROGRAMS, AND SOCIAL/FAMILY BACKGROUND OF PERSONS ON PROBATION. PRETEST DATA WILL BE USED TO REFINE PROCEDURES FOR THE FULL SURVEY.
