Approved as amended by ED's memoranda to OMB of 3/22/93 and 3/23/93. addition, ED has agreed to the following conditions to increase utilit -- A follow-up probe shall be added to Section I, to determine the reasons for participation in voluntary community service. -- ED shall include all data elements in Section C, question 4g within the response options for Section C, question 6, to compare satisfactio with current job against factors for satisfaction in futurejobs. -- ED shall add a follow-up question in Section F, to ask borrowers no currently repaying their loan when they made their last payment. This shall be used as a proxy for delinquency/default status, since deferra are asked about separately. We note that lack of repayment due to lender forbearance will also be captured in this additional question. -- ED shall code all open-ended questions from this field test into closed-ended questions on the main BPS study.

THIS STUDY WILL COLLECT, ANALYZE, AND REPORT DATA ABOUT FIRST-TIME POSTSECONDARY STUDENTS IN ACADEMIC YEAR 1988-89 (FIELD TEST) AND 1989- (FULL-SCALE SURVEY) USING AS A BASE THE NPSAS:90 AND FIRST BPS FOLLOWUP SAMPLES. INFORMATION ABOUT 1,446 FIELD TEST AND 7,919 FULL-SCALE STUDENTS WILL BE COLLECTED THROUGH CATI.
