Terms of Clearance: Approved through March 1994. Completion of this review was delayed by BLS' slowness in providing a response to the prior terms of clearance. Because BLS' response is incomplete, we have reinstated approval of this collection for only one year. In preparation for further extension of OMB approval, BLS should arrange a meeting with OMB durin April 1993 to discuss how it will meet the terms of clearance. . In its response to the prior terms, BLS has provided response rates by employment size category and industry. However, BLS has not, as requested, provided a report on the feasibility of rescheduling the replenishment of survey panels with the objective of reducing the overall attrition in response rates and achieving a more constant response rate by industry over time. BLS should address the rationale of its current strategy for controlling attrition in the sample, uses made of industry level data, the effect of low industry response rates on the analysis of specific industries, and alternatives considered for controlling attrition. . SF 83 item 15 has been corrected to answer 2, "reinstatement." . You may omit printing the expiration date on this collection.
