THIS PROJECT IS BEING CONDUCTED IN RESPONSE TO AN ACT PASSED BY CONGRESS IN NOVEMBER 1990 ESTABLISHING A SAFETY STANDARD FOR AUTOMATIC GARAGE DOOR OPERATORS AND GIVING THE CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY COMMISSIO THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ITS ENFORCEMENT. ALL KNOWN MANUFACTURERS AND IMPORTERS OF SUCH PRODUCTS WILL BE INSPECTED TO ASSESS THE OVERALL LEV OF INDUSTRY COMPLIANCE WITH THE STANDARD.
