THE PROPOSED REGULATION REVISES AN EXISTING REPORTING REQUIREMENT. MEMBERS OF THE VOLUNTARY MARINE MAMMAL STRANDING NETWORK WOULD BE AFFECTED. REGISTRATION OF TISSUES RETAINED FROM STRANDED ANIMALS WOUL BECOME MANDATORY. THE PROPOSED REGULATION ALSO PROVIDES CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SUCH TISSUES COULD BE TRANSFERRED.
