Abstract: THE WORKER ADJUSTMENT AND RETRAINING NOTIFICATION ACT REQUIRES THAT EMPLOYERS OF 100 OR MORE FULL-TIME WORKERS PROVIDE 60-DAY ADVANCE NOTI OF PLANT CLOSINGS AND MASS LAYOFFS TO UNIONS, UNREPRESENTED WORKERS WH WILL BECOME UNEMPLOYED, THE STATE DISLOCATED WORKER UNIT AND A LOCAL GOVERNMENT, TO ALLOW FOR WORKER ADJUSTMENT AND ASSISTANCE.
