NCES WILL FIELD TEST A SCHOOL-BASED APPROACH TO IDENTIFYING AND INTERVIEWING DROPOUTS THROUGH LISTS SUPPLIED BY SCHOOLS. THE FIELD TE WILL BE USED TO ASSESS THE EFFICIENCY OF THIS APPROACH AND TO HELP EVALUATE OTHER PROPOSED COMPONENTS OF THE NCES DROPOUT STATISTICS PROGRAM.
