Abstract: THIS PROGRAM SUPPLIES THE KEY MEASURES OF MANUFACTURING ACTIVITY FOR INTERCENSAL YEARS. IT S RESULTS ARE USED WIDELY AS A BENCHMARK FOR OTHER FEDERAL RESERVE BOARDS'S INDEX OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION, THE BUREAU OF ECONOMIC ANALYSIS ESTIMATES OF THE GROSS NATIONAL PRODUCT, AND THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE'S ANNUAL PUBLICATION, "INDUSTRIAL OUTLOOK."
