OMB has taken the following action with respect to the "JTPA Financial Status Report, and JTPA Summer Performance Report" package: 1. With regard to the JTPA Financial Status Report, proposed item 2(a), "New Incentive Awards," is APPROVED. The request for quarterly reporting, however, is NOT APPROVED at this time. The Department has not provided any evidence that semiannual reporting has not met the Department's needs. Therefore, this report continues to be approved on a semiannual basis only. 2. With regard to the "JTPA Summer Performance Report," the Department's proposed new items (nos. 6, 23, and 24) are NOT APPROVED at this time. The Department has provided no justification for these data elements. The Department may resubmit for Paperwork Reduction Act review the proposed changes described above if it provides additional justification for those changes.

THE INFORMATION COLLECTED WILL BE USED TO SEMIANNUALLY ASSESS JTPA STATEWIDE PROGRAMS, AND LEARN WHO IS SERVED BY TITLE II-B SUMMER PROGRAMS. PARTICIPANT AND FINANCIAL DATA WILL BE USED TO RESPONDE TO CONGRESSIONAL OVERSIGHT, TO PREPARE BUDGET REQUEST BASED ON MORE CURRENT DATA, AND MAKE ANNUAL REPORTS TO CONGRESS PER STATUTE.
