Abstract: THE AGRICULTURAL ACT OF 1970 HAS PLACED A MANDATORY REPORTING REQUIREMENT ON ALL EXPORT SELLERS OF SELECTED U.S. PRODUCED AGRICULTURAL COMMODITIES. THE PUBLISHED DATA IS AN "EARLY WARNING" SYSTEM OF LARGE AGRICULTURAL SALES AND PROVIDES A BASIS FOR MORE INFORMED DECISIONS BY PRODUCERS, EXPORTERS, FUTURES MARKET PARTICIPANTS, CONSUMERS, AND GOVERNMENT.
