CONGRESS MANDATED THE COLLECTION OF NATIONAL ASSESSMENT SURVEY DATA. THE BRIDGE ASSESSMENT, PREVIOUSLY ASSESSED EXERCISES IN MATHEMATICS, READING AND SCIENCE WILL BE ADMINISTERED TO PROVIDE A STATISTICAL LINKAGE BETWEEN THE FORMER NAEP DESIGN & THE NEW DESIGN. RESULTS WILL PERMIT TRANSLATION FROM PAST TO NEW DATA & EFFECTIVELY MAINTAIN THE INTEGRITY OF TREND ANALYSIS ACROSS THE METHOD CHANGE. RESPONDENTS WIL BE STUDENTS AT AGES 9, 13, & 17. PREVIOUSLY USED BACKGROUND & ATTITUD
