Terms of Clearance: THIS SURVEY, AS AMENDED BY THE 3-1-84 MEMO FROM NCES RESPONDING TO OMB'S QUESTIONS, IS APPROVED FOR USE AS A PRETEST ONLY. THIS APPROVAL DOES NOT INCLUDE QUESTION 38 WHICH DEALS WITH MAINSTREAMED SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS. IN ORDER TO MONITOR THE REQUIREMENTS OF PL 94-142, THE DEPARTMENT ALREADY COLLECTS DATA ANNUALLY ON THE TYPE OF PLACEMENT IN WHICH EACH HANDICAPPED CHILD IS EDUCATED. A NEW CLEARANCE REQUEST REFLECTING ANY CHANGES RESULTING FROM THE PRETEST SHOULD BE SUBMITTED PRIOR TO CONDUCTING THE MAIN SURVEY.

Abstract: THIS SURVEY IS NEEDED IN ORDER FOR NCES TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF P.L. 93-380, SECTIONS 406(B)1 AND (5). IT WILL BE USED AS SUCH TO PRODUCE A REPORT ON THE SUPPLY AND DEMAND OF PERSONS NEWLY QUALIFIED TO TEACH AS WELL AS SEVERAL REPORTS ON NEW COLLEGE GRADUATES IN THE JOB MARKET.
