Abstract: CFR 386.6 REQUIRES THAT AN APPROPRIATE DESTINATION CONTROL STATEMENT BE PLACED ON ALL COPIES OF THE BILL OF LADING, THE AIR WAYBILL AND THE COMMERCIAL INVOICE COVERING AN EXPORT FROM THE U.S. THIS STATEMENT APPRISES CONSIGNEES OF THE PROHIBITIONS AGAINST SHIPPING CERTAIN COMMODITIES TO PROHIBITED DESTINATIONS THUS MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT FOR A FOREIGN CONSIGNEE TO UNWILLINGLY VIOLATE THE EXPORT ADMINISTRATION REGULATIONS
