Abstract: LETTER 313)C/SC/SCSP) AND FORM 4977 ARE SENT TO TAXPAYERS LIABLE FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYMENT AND EXCISE TAXES WHO MAY NOT HAVE FEDERAL TAX DEPOSITS (FTD) IN SUFFICIENT AMOUNTS WHEN DUE. AN FTD PENALTY IS PROPOSED BASED ON AVAILABLE INFORMATION. THE TAXPAYER CAN EITHER RESPOND WITH PAYMENT OF THE PENALTY OR BY OFFERING REASONABLE CAUSE FOR NOT MAKING THE REQUIRED DEPOSITS.
