Abstract: 26 U.S.C. 6011 REQUIRES THAT ALL TAXPAYERS WHO INCUR A TAX LIABILITY MUST FILE A TAX RETURN. IF THE TAXPAYER ADVISES IRS THAT AN ERROR WAS MADE ON THE TAX RETURN, IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO REQUEST A COPY OF THE TAXPAYER'S ORIGINAL RETURN IN ORDER TO MAKE THE CORRECTION.
