This request for clearance is approved through september l983 . Howeve the expiration date need not be displayed. The Department has indicated that "some duplication now exists..." The approval period is designed to permit the Department to further assess the extent of the duplication, determine whether the Department and EPA and/or OSM can coordinate requireements so that a single filing would satisfy each agencies requirement(s) andd provide for sharing of information between the agencies. When the Department submits a request for extension of this approval, which should occur not later than July l, l983, it should providee a report of this assessment and its conclusions.
