Abstract: THIS INFORMATION IS NEEDED BY THE FDIC TO EVALUATE REGULATORY PROPOSALS IN THE CONSUMER PROTECTION AREA, TO ENHANCE THE ANALYSIS OF COMPETITION ASSOCIATED WITH BANK APPLICATIONS FOR EXPANSION AND CONSOLIDATION, AND TO DISCHARGE STATUTORY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR PROVIDING ADVICE CONCERNING THE DEVELOPMENT OF ELECTRONIC FUNDS TRANSF SERVICES. IN ADDITION, THE FEDERAL RESERVE BOARD WILL USE THE INFORMATION TO ENHANCE INTERPRETATION OF MONETARY AGGREGATES.
