MINE EMERGENCY TRAINING AND SELF RESCUER TRAINING IS REQUIRED FOR ALL UNDERGROUND PERSONNEL. THE INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL AND INSTRUCTION RECORDS MUST BE RETAINED FOR MSHA INSPECTION TO ASSURE THAT ALL PERSONNEL INVOLVED WILL UNDERSTAND THE APPROPRIATE EMERGENCY PROCEDURES, PARTICULARLY SELF-PROTECTION AFFORDED BY THE SELF RESCUER DURING A FIRE.
