Abstract: UNDER FEDERAL LAW, BREWERS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO OBTAIN A FEDERAL PERMIT TO OPERATE A BREWERY. AS BEER IS TAXABLE; HOWEVER. & CONGRESS DID INTEND THAT THE INDUSTRY BE REGULATED, BREWERS ARE REQUIRED TO FILE A NOTICE OF INTENT TO OPERATE A BREWERY. THIS NOTICE IS VERY SIMILAR TO AN APPLICATION FOR A PERMIT. FORM FULFILLS THE REQUIREMENTS OF LAW.
