Abstract: 26 U.S.C. 6109 REQUIRES THAT THE CORRECT SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER BE ENTERED ON TAX RETURNS. IF A TAXPAYER DOES NOT HAVE AN SSN, THEY ARE IRED TO OBTAIN ONE. IF THE NUMBER THEY ARE USING IS INCORRECT, VERIFICATION IS REQUIRED BEFORE THE RETURN CAN BE PROCESSED.
