Abstract: OTHER NATIONAL CRIME SURVEY REDESIGN DATA COLLECTION EXERCISES WILL SELECTIVELY TEST NEW PROCEDURES TO IMPROVE THE SURVEY. THE PURPOSE OF THE NATIONAL FIELD TEST IS TO EXAMINE THE MOST PROMISING OF THESE INNO VATION TOGETHER IN A CONTEXT WHICH WOULD CLOSELY RESEMBLE THE COLLEC TION ENVIRONMENT OF AN ON GOING NCS. SUCH A TEST SHOULD DETERMINE WHI OF THESE INNOVATIONS CAN BE DIRECTLY INCORPORATED INTO THE NCS & SHOUL LSO INDICATE WHAT CHANGES ARE NECESSARY BEFORE OTHER NEW STRATEGIES CA
