Abstract: RESIDENCE AND MIGRATION DATA ARE NEEDED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION STATES, EDUCATIONAL RESEARCHERS, PLANNING AND BUDGET OFFICERS AND INDIVIDUAL COLLEGES FOR USE IN ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL PLANNING AND POLICY FORMULATION PARTICULARLY WITH REGARD TO TRACKING THE MIGRATION OF STUDENTS FROM STATE TO STATE WHICH HAS A DIRECT IMPACT ON COLLEGE COSTS, STUDENT FINANCIAL NEEDS, AND SOURCES OF SUCH FUNDS.
