Abstract: THESE DATA ARE USED BY BOTH THE OFFICE OF TEXTILES AND APPAREL, DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, AND THE INTERNATIONAL TRADE COMMISSION TO MONITOR THE EFFECT OF IMPORTS ON DOMESTIC PRODUCTION. THERE ARE A NUMBER OF BILATERAL AGREEMENTS LIMITING IMPORTS OF APPAREL AND THESE DATA ARE NECESSARY TO MONITOR THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THESE AGREEMENTS.
