Abstract: SURVEY OBTAINS DEPOSIT BREAH DOWNS BY INDIVIDUAL BANKING OFFICE. DATA IS USED FOR PROJECTING DEPOSIT GROWTH AND POTENTIAL PROFITABILITY OF NEW BANKS AND BRANCH OFFICES. THE SURVEY MEASURES DEPOSIT TRENDS AND PROVIDES A BASIS FOR MEASURING THE COMPETITIVE IMPACT ON PROPOSED BANK MERGERS WITHIN A DEFINED MARKET AREA. ADDITIONAL USES ARE DEPOSIT INSURANCE ESTIMATES AND COMPLIANCE TO COMMUNITY REINVESTMENT ACT REQUIREMENTS.
