Abstract: THE ANNUAL STATE SALARY SURVEY COVERS 104 BENCHMARK JOB CLASSES FOR 53 STATES AND TERRITORIES. REPORTS FROM THE STATES INDICATE THAT ITS ACCURACY AND TIMELINESS HAVE MADE IT A PRIMARY OR SECONDARY TOOL IN SALARY SETTING FOR OVER 85% OF THE STATES. IT IS ALSO USED IN THE STATES' BUDGET PROCESSES AND COLLECTIVE BARGAINING NEGOTIATIONS.
