Abstract: THIS SURVEY WAS BEGUN IN 1961 TO PROVIDE QUANITY AND VALUE OF SHIPMENT FOR VARIOUS TYPES OF SELECTED INSTRUMENTS AND RELATED PRODUCTS. GOVERNMENT AGENCIES USE THE DATA FOR TRADE ANALYSIS, MEASUREMENT, AND FORECASTING. BUSINESS FIRMS AND TRADE ASSOCIATIIONS USE THE DATA FO MARKET SHARE ANALYSIS AND LONG-TERM PLANNING.
