Abstract: INCREASING COSTS IN FACE-TO-FACE SURVEY DATA COLLECTION MAKE TELEPHONE INTERVIEWING AN INCREASINGLY ATTRACTIVE ALTERNATIVE. HOWEVER, QUESTIO ARISE REGARDING THE EFFECTS OF THIS PROCEDURE ON DATA QUALITY, RANGE O POSSIBLE INTERVIEW TECHNIQUES AND SAMPLE COVERAGE. SRC WILL INVESTIGA THE NATURE AND MAGNITUDE OF ANY SUCH EFFECTS BY SYSTEMTICALLY COMPARIN TELEPHONE AND FACE-TO-FACE NCS INTERVIEWING PRACTICES.
