FSIS is amending its regulations to define the conditions under which the labeling of FSIS-regulated products may bear voluntary claims indicating that the product is of United States origin. Under the recordkeeping requirements associated with generically approved labeling, records must be maintained to demonstrate compliance with proposed regulatory requirements for labels bearing U.S.-origin claims.
